Local Bar Code Reader Manufacturer Ready for New
Utah Liquor Law
Code Corporation Bar Code Reader Features
an Age Verification Application
Salt Lake City, UT- March 11, 2009 - Code Corporation, a Utah based
bar code reader manufacturer, is ready to implement bar code readers
in local restaurants and bars, which will meet Utah's new liquor
law requirements.
As part of the new Utah Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, local
restaurants and bars will be required to scan state issued identification
to verify the validity of the identification presented. Data is
required to be stored on-site for one week.
Code's products have had the ability to scan and parse the data
encoded on the back of driver's licenses for over 5 years and have
been successfully implemented in DMV offices throughout the country,
including Utah Department of Revenue offices.
"In anticipation of Utah's new liquor laws we have built a
custom application to meet the needs of local restaurants and bars",
said George E. Powell, president and CEO of Code Corporation. "The
Code Reader 3500 will quickly parse the information from any driver
license issued throughout the U.S. and display the identification
card holder's age on the bar code reader's display screen."
Data captured by a Code Reader 3500 can be stored in the bar code
reader or downloaded via USB cable or wirelessly to a PC using a
secure and encrypted Bluetooth connection. All scanned data files
are stored in non-volatile flash memory and are maintained in the
event of a power loss.
The Code Reader 3500, combined with its unique age verification
application, is the most cost-effective and reliable bar code reader
on the market today that will read driver licenses and ID cards.
