Code readers are each equipped with a patented Dual-Field Optics design that expands the reading range of the imager by providing two unique fields of view in one bar code reader.

Code readers split the imager into a high-density field and a wide angle field. This gives the user a device that can read both very wide bar codes and very small bar codes in a single unit. (The green dots on Figure 3 indicate different sizes of bar codes a Code reader can identify and decode.
