New Accessories
Expand Code Readers' Usability
Ruggedized Cabled Handle, New Battery Handle and Mountable CodeXML Modem
Draper, UT - August 22, 2006 - Code Corporation announced several new accessories
for its CR2 and CR3 bar code readers to further enhance in-use scenarios,
including: two new handles for high volume bar code reading - the H2,
a cabled ruggedized handle, and the BH1/BH2, a battery handle available
in two sizes; a 12 ft. USB cable to extend reach of cabled readers in
production environments; and new housing for the versatile CodeXML Bluetooth
Modem with added connectivity and data security options.
"Our products are used in environments with many challenges," said, George Powell, Code's president and CEO. "We have added extensive upgrades to the Code Reader product line that extend
the use-life of our products in all of the industrial, medical, transportation
and public sector markets we serve."
The new cabled handle, dubbed the 'H2' is designed for rugged,
high volume bar code reading environments. It has elastomer overmolding
and is ergonomically designed for comfortable use in the most demanding
cabled applications. While maintaining the Code Reader's modularity
and flexibility for many uses, the reader and cable are secured to the
handle using the reader's existing battery compartment, with optional
further security provided by threaded screw inserts in the latest CR2
and CR3 models. The handle provides increased protection to the reader's
window and LEDs. The H2 accommodates a lanyard hook option, allowing
attachment to a retractable cable or lanyard. With an extended trigger
life of three million activations, the H2 provides the solid choice
for increasing Code reader productivity in harsh use conditions.
Batch and Wireless (Bluetooth) users have two new choices
of Battery Handle products. The BH1 and BH2 share the same rugged design
elements as the H2, with a choice in battery capacity: BH1-1950 mAH
lithium ion battery; and BH2-3900 mAH lithium ion battery. Both have
'quick release' design elements to easily remove the battery for charging,
while maintaining secure connection to the reader while in use.
The new packaging for the CodeXML modem provides mounting
features which enhance its modularity, and provides USB Keyboard, PS2
Keyboard, and RS232 (Serial) host communications features. An optional
feature for encryption of captured data before wireless transmission
by employing 32-bit key generation, from pass phrase, provides unequaled
Bluetooth data security.
"These accessories have been added to our product
line as a direct result of our many years of experience with end user
applications and requirements." Powell said.
